Minnesota governor said at least two police officials and another official were killed as they were initially responding to a domestic crime incident in Burnsville.
In a post released on X — Governor Tim Walz noted: “Horrific news from Burnsville. While responding to a call of a family in danger, two police officers and one firefighter lost their lives, and other officers were injured.”
Walz also said: “We must never take for granted the bravery and sacrifices our police officers and first responders make every day. My heart is with their families today and the entire State of Minnesota stands with Burnsville.”
Officials from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives responded to an incident after reining reports first responders involved in a “domestic-related shooting,” according to the agency.
Burnsville is located at a distance of around 15 miles south of Minneapolis.
