Micucci, who played Lucy the love interest of Raj Koothrappali (Kunal Nayyar) on the Big Bang Theory has undergone surgery after being diagnosed with lung cancer.
The actress and comedian after being diagnosed with cancer said in a clip that ‘’She is now recovering and the “good news” is doctors “caught it early”.
She further said, “It’s pretty weird because I’ve never smoked a cigarette in my life so it was a surprise but also, I guess it happens.
The American actress and comedian posted a TikTok video from a hospital bed, jokingly calling it a “SickTok.”
Smoking cigarettes is a major risk factor for developing lung cancer but the other risk factors that can contribute to lung cancer include secondhand smoke and air pollution.
Lung cancer can be treated in many ways, including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and targeted therapy that uses drugs to block the spread of cancer cells.
The actress said that ‘She underwent surgery for lung cancer – despite having never smoked a cigarette in her life.
Besides her work as an actor, Micucci also performs as one half of the musical comedy duo Garfunkel and Oates with Riki Lindhome.
