The anti-corruption authorities have arrested Khawar Maneka, the former husband of Bushra Bibi, from the Lahore airport on charges of carrying out illegal construction on state land.

He is alleged to have constructed a marriage hall on the land of a graveyard.

The anti-corruption officials said Maneka was attempting to flee from the country to Dubai.

The immigration authorities of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) stopped Khawar Maneka at the airport shortly before he was set to board a flight to Dubai.

The FIA sources said that Maneka was scheduled to travel to Dubai from a private international airlines, but he was stopped as his name was on the Exit Control List.

Maneka has a case registered against him with the anti-corruption department of Punjab.
