A car crashed into the emergency room (ER) of St David’s North Austin Medical Center in Texas, resulting in the death of the driver and injuries to five others, including a child with life-threatening conditions, Daily Mail reported.

The collision occurred shortly after 5:30 pm, with emergency responders attempting to save the driver’s life in the ER. Authorities are investigating the incident, and while the cause remains unknown, the Austin Police Department suggests it appears unintentional.

Images depict a silver sedan with a severely damaged front end lodged entirely inside the ER lobby. Video footage captures the destruction of waiting room chairs before the car comes to rest in a hallway near a reception desk.

The St. David’s North Austin Medical Center, a 441-bed acute care facility, provides a range of specialised services, including maternity care, surgeries, and 24-hour emergency care.
