Caretaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Azam Khan passed away on Saturday morning.
According to the spokesperson of the Rehman Medical Institute, Peshawar, Azam Khan was shifted to the private hospital on Friday night when his health deteriorated.
The hospital spokesman, Shabbir Shah, said Azam Khan was suffering from various diseases and was in a critical condition.
He was shifted to the Peshawar hospital on Friday night. Due to his illness, he had limited his movement for the past few days.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administration secretary has announced a three-day mourning in the province. A notification in this regard was issued by the chief secretary.
During the mourning, the national flag will fly at half-mast across the province.
