Al Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo thanked his fans for the tribute during the Saudi Pro League match against Damac FC on Saturday.
“Incredible atmosphere in the stadium tonight,” the Portuguese footballer has said in a post on X, erstwhile Twitter. “Happy with the win and we keep working hard every game. Thank you to the fans for such a lovely tribute also.”
Al Nassr secured three points after winning the game, bringing them to the third position on the points table. With 22 points, they are behind Al-Hilal and Al-Tawoun.
Ronaldo’s goal free kick in the 56 minutes of the game gave an edge to his side, reminding his fans of the free-kick which he had hit against Spain in the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Fans at the KSU Stadium had made a special poster, showing Ronaldo wearing the American comic character Captain America costume with the Al Nassr logo for reaching the milestone of 200 official games with the Portuguese team.
Earlier this month, Ronaldo struck twice as Roberto Martinez’s relentless Portugal thrashed Bosnia and Herzegovina 5-0 on Monday in Euro 2024 qualifying.
Ronaldo netted his 126th and 127th Portugal goals, further extending his record as the top all-time men’s international goalscorer.
