In an encouraging news for WhatsApp users, the meta-owned platform is working on a feature that will allow for the provision of a “review” request for suspended channels.

WhatsApp channels must operate within specific guidelines that provide a basic set of rules and ambit and define what will be deemed as prohibited content and otherwise.

The feature will provide a way for users — whose WhatsApp channels were automatically suspended due to violation — to seek restoration of their channels by requestion a “review”, reported WaBetaInfo, which discovered the new feature via the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.25.9 update available on the Google Play Store.

This improvement is a major step towards empowering channel owners by ensuring a fair and transparent process.

The option for suspended channels to request a review is aimed at allowing the users to highlight any misunderstandings or disparities that may have caused the suspension.

WhatsApp channels are subjected to automated reviews which are carried out on predefined algorithms and criteria as per the platform’s policy guidelines.
