India defeated New Zealand by four wickets to clinch the Champions Trophy 2025 at Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.

New Zealand won the toss and chose to bat first. This marks the 15th consecutive toss India has lost in One Day Internationals.

Daryl Mitchell top-scored for New Zealand with 63 runs, while Michael Bracewell added a quickfire 53, helping their team post a total of 251/7.

Varun Chakravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets each for India.

In reply, Indian captain Rohit Sharma scored 76 runs, helping his side to get over the line. Iyer made 48 runs while Gill scored 31 runs.

New Zealand captain Santner picked up two wickets.

New Zealand entered the final without injured pacer Matt Henry, with Nathan Smith stepping in as his replacement. India opted to stick with the same squad that defeated Australia in the semi-final.

In past encounters, New Zealand defeated India in the 2000 Champions Trophy final. In 2002, India and Sri Lanka shared the title, while India won in 2013 by beating England. However, in 2017, India suffered a heavy 180-run defeat against Pakistan.
