Pakistan’s military spokesperson, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has confirmed that India carried out 24 strikes at six different locations inside Pakistan, resulting in eight deaths and 35 injuries.
Speaking at an early morning press briefing on Wednesday, the Director-General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that India launched air-to-surface missiles targeting five key areas: Muridke, Ahmadpur East, Kotli, Bagh, and Muzaffarabad.
Lieutenant General Chaudhry asserted, “Pakistan will respond to India’s cowardly attacks at a time and place of its choosing.” He confirmed that retaliatory actions, both from ground and air, are underway against Indian positions.
According to the ISPR, one of the deadliest attacks took place in Ahmadpur East, where the Subhan Mosque was targeted, resulting in the deaths of five people and injuries to 31 others. Among the deceased was a three-year-old girl.
In Muzaffarabad, another mosque in the Shahi Wali area was struck, killing one man and injuring another. In Kotli, a mosque was hit, leading to the deaths of a 16-year-old girl and an 18-year-old boy.
Two additional strikes were carried out in Kotli Loharan, north of Sialkot, though no casualties were reported there.
Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif condemned the Indian strikes, stating that the attacks were launched on civilian areas using India’s airspace. “Let the Indians come forward. We will give a stronger response than their assault,” he declared in an official statement.
The Pakistani military has vowed comprehensive retaliation, as tensions continue to escalate rapidly between the two neighbouring countries.
