India’s Ministry of Defence announced late last night that the Indian Army conducted precision strikes on nine targets inside Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir, allegedly linked to terrorist planning and operations against India.
According to the statement, under the operation codenamed Operation Sandur, Indian forces targeted areas in Kotli, Bagh, and Muzaffarabad in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, along with locations in Bahawalpur (Ahmadpur East) and Muridke in Punjab, Pakistan.
The Indian Defence Ministry described the strikes as “carefully calibrated, limited, and non-escalatory,” emphasising that no Pakistani military installations were attacked.
The government of India claims these strikes were carried out in response to the recent Pahalgam attack and specifically targeted terrorist hideouts without causing civilian casualties or damaging military infrastructure.
According to the Indian Defence Ministry spokesperson, a detailed briefing on Operation Sandur is scheduled for later this afternoon.
