As internet and mobile communications facilities in the Palestinian territories were cut off, Israel escalated its bombing of the besieged Gaza Strip.
After dusk on Friday, a prolonged sequence of massive explosions lit up the sky over Gaza City.
The Hamas government Friday said Israel “cut communications and most of the internet” across the Gaza Strip.
The government’s media office accused Israel of taking the measure “to perpetrate massacres with bloody retaliatory strikes from the air, land and sea,” as heavy strikes hit northern Gaza.

Internet connectivity in the Gaza Strip has collapsed, according to Netblocks Internet Observatory.
Israeli military spokesperson, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, announced that Israeli air and ground forces are increasing their activities in the Gaza Strip.
These actions include extensive airstrikes targeting tunnels and infrastructure.
Furthermore, ground forces are expanding their operations, heightening the anticipation of a potential ground invasion in Gaza.
Internet and mobile phone services have been disrupted in the besieged enclave, adding to the escalating situation.
