Liverpool’s defender, Andy Robertson, has had surgery to address a shoulder injury sustained while representing Scotland. The injury occurred during a collision with Spain’s goalkeeper, Unai Simon, during Scotland’s Euro 2024 qualifying match earlier this month.
Robertson, a prominent left-back who has played eight league games and scored one goal for Liverpool this season, was replaced by Kostas Tsimikas in the recent Merseyside derby win against Everton. Unfortunately, he is expected to face an extended period of recovery, and Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp couldn’t provide a specific timeline for his return.
In a separate context, Klopp hinted at making changes for Liverpool’s Europa League clash against Toulouse in Group E, emphasising the importance of respecting their French opponents despite their relatively limited European experience.
A victory would put Liverpool five points ahead in the group, positioning them favourably for the knockout stages. Klopp stressed the team’s commitment to winning and acknowledged the readiness of his players for the competition.
