A shocking turn of events has unfolded in the case of the firing incident outside Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s residence.

Anuj Thapan, one of the accused, tragically died by suicide while in police custody on Wednesday. The 32-year-old was accused of supplying weapons to the two shooters involved in the incident.

Thapan attempted to end his life while under police custody and was immediately rushed to Mumbai’s GT Hospital in critical condition. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after.

Thapan, along with another accused Sonu Subhash Chander, had been arrested from Punjab on April 25th in connection with the case.

The incident that sparked this investigation occurred on April 14th, when two unidentified men on a motorcycle fired four rounds outside Salman Khan’s residence, Galaxy Apartments, in Mumbai’s Bandra area.

The actor was reportedly present at home during the time of the firing.

Following the incident, Mumbai Police apprehended the two shooters, Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, from Bhuj in Gujarat.

Their subsequent confessions led to the arrest of Thapan and Chander for their alleged involvement in providing the weapons.

Authorities have invoked the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against all the accused in this case. The investigation is currently ongoing, and Thapan’s death adds a new layer of complexity to the proceedings.
