Man gets life sentence for desecrating Quran in Peshawar

Incident occurred in Peshawar’s Garhi Khan Baba in 2018, according to police

The district and sessions court in Peshawar has convicted a man of desecrating the Holy Quran and sentenced and awarded him to life imprisonment.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Sher Ali Khan announced the verdict after finding the suspect, Kifayatullah, guilty of the crime.

The suspect was accused of burning Quran inside a mosque in Peshawar, according to the police. The people in the area had arrested the suspect and handed him to the police.

A case was registered against him at the Khazana Police Station. The incident took place in Peshawar’s Garhi Khan Baba area in 2018.
