Auckland was the first major city to usher in the New Year, with large crowds gathering in the city center and on volcanic hillsides to take in the stunning fireworks displays.

Countries in the South Pacific led the world in marking the arrival of 2025, with New Zealand ringing in the New Year a full 18 hours before the famous ball drop in New York’s Times Square, where revelers in silver “2025” hats gathered eagerly to celebrate.
