Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Syrus Qazi said that Canada’s allegations of India being involved in the killing of a Sikh leader did not come as a surprise since it had engaged in sabotage activities in Pakistan.

Speaking to the media at Pakistan’s mission to the United Nations, Qazi said if Canada’s prime minister had allege India’s involvement in the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, the claim could not be unfounded.

He added that the statement was hardly surprising since India had been involved in trying to create instability in Pakistan. He also mentioned that Pakistan had a serving officer from the Indian navy in custody over allegations of espionage and sabotage.

Qazi said that if any country in the world knew India best, it was Pakistan.

The foreign secretary also confirmed that caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar would raise the issue of Kashmir in his speech before the UN general assembly.
