Overnight shootings in Chicago kill 5 people including a minor

Two people were found in the 200-block of West 109th Place in West Roseland, police say

Chicago Police said Wednesday that the overnight shootings across the city killed at least five people including a 15-year-old girl and injured five others, local media reported, as the minor was found deceased with another male in Roseland.

The two were found in the 200 block of West 109th Place in West Roseland, according to the local authorities. The male was 24 years old.

The shooter fled the scene and the person was declared dead by the authorities.

Authorities also noted that two other 22-year-old females were fatally shot in the 5000-block of West Gladys Avenue, adding that a white car approached the two women standing on the sidewalk and someone opened fire.

Both were transported to the hospital in critical condition but they succumbed to their injuries. According to ABC Chicago, no one was in custody and the police have commenced an investigation.

In the West Pullman neighborhood, a 25-year-old male was also fatally shot in the 600 block of West 117th Street, police said.

The victim was in the 600 block of West 117th Street at about 12:19 am. when he told police he was shot by an unknown suspect who fled on foot.

The suspect was only a 16-year-old who attempted to rob two people ages 34 and 50, at about 10:02 pm in the 3800 block of West Roosevelt Road, reported ABC7 Chicago.
