Vote counting is currently underway as polling for the general elections has concluded largely peacefully with sporadic reports of violence in different parts of the country.
As per the details, the voting process began at 8 am and continued uninterrupted till 5pm. The people inside the premises of the polling stations before the deadline, however, were allowed to cast their votes.
Countrywide disruption of cellular and internet services during polls irked the political parties and cast doubts on the transparency of the voting process.
A total of 349 foreign journalists and 103 observers from abroad have been covering and closely inspecting the conduct of the nationwide polls in Pakistan.
