“Pakistan attacked an Iranian border village with missiles,” state television said, quoting Alireza Marhamati, deputy provincial governor of Iran’s Sistan-Baluchistan province.

” seven people were killed in this incident. All non-Iranian nationals,” he added.

The attack targeted a village near the city of Saravan, on the border with Pakistan, he noted.

The missile strike took place two days after Iran carried out strikes against “terrorist” targets in Pakistan which left at least two children dead.

On Wednesday, Iran’s foreign minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said Tehran targeted an “Iranian terrorist group” in Pakistan.

Ayoub Kord, director of the Department of roads and Transport in Iran’s Sistan-Baluchestan province, says trade between Iran and Pakistan remains unhindered through the Mirjaveh and Rimdan border crossings.

“We saw about 450 trucks transiting through the Mirjaveh crossing in the past day,” Kord told the state-run IRNA on Thursday.

“We saw trucks transiting through this important border crossing this morning as well.”

Kord said the Rimdan crossing remains active as well, and said Pakistanis can use it to enter Iran for tourism purposes
