Pakistani cricket captain Babar Azam and the team’s standout all-rounder Shadab Khan have both been nominated for the prestigious International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s Player of the Month Award for August 2023, the ICC said in a statement on Thursday.
The ICC Player of the Month awards were started in 2021. An independent ICC Voting Academy, which includes former players, broadcasters, and journalists, selects winners of the ICC Men’s Player of the Month and ICC Women’s Player of the Month accolades.
“Two Pakistan stars and an explosive West Indies wicketkeeper have made the shortlist for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month Award for August 2023,” the ICC said in the statement.
