Pakistan’s Govt all set to hike power price by Rs2.49 per unit

The overall cost of electricity production is Rs73 billion in the month

The government of Pakistan is all set to impose another mega hike of Rs2.49 per unit on electricity consumers.

The CPA has requested that Nepra increase the power tariffs for March on account of fuel adjustment.

The applicant informed that hydel power production was 27.63 per cent, coal 10.75 and LN20.67 per cent during the month of March.

The applicant also disclosed that 25.79 per cent electricity was produced by nuclear technology, while wind and solar power electricity production stood at 2.55 pc and 1.73 per cent.

The overall cost of electricity production was Rs73 billion in the month.
