Tens of thousands of thrill-seekers and spectators gathered for the traditional running of the bulls, a high-adrenaline spectacle that sees participants sprint through narrow cobblestone streets with powerful bulls close behind. The festival, known for its vibrant energy, religious rituals, and daily parades, resumed in full scale after years of pandemic-related restrictions and scaled-back editions.
This year’s event got an unusual twist: a bear cub was spotted nearby.
Local authorities confirmed that a young bear wandered into the outskirts of the festival area, drawing attention and prompting safety alerts. While the bear posed no threat and was later safely guided back into nearby woodlands, the sighting made headlines for adding an unexpected wild card to an already daring celebration.
The festival runs from July 6 to 14, and includes fireworks, concerts, bullfights, and street performances — all deeply rooted in Spanish tradition.
