Mohamed Salah’s brace propelled Liverpool to a 3-0 victory over Brentford, allowing them to catch up with Manchester City and Arsenal at the Premier League summit. Salah, with nine of his 12 goals this season at Anfield, set a record by scoring in each of Liverpool’s first six home league games.

Darwin Nunez’s assist broke the deadlock, and despite Brentford’s efforts, they couldn’t recover after Salah’s second goal. Liverpool’s perfect home record continued, marking their ninth win and 27 goals in nine games at Anfield this season.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa secured their 13th consecutive home win in the Premier League with a 3-1 triumph over Fulham. Antonee Robinson’s own goal and a stunning strike from John McGinn put Villa in control at halftime, and a well-executed counter-attack, finished by Ollie Watkins, sealed the victory. Raul Jimenez pulled one back for Fulham, but Villa climbed to fifth place, just a point shy of the top four.

In another exciting encounter, West Ham halted their three-game Premier League losing streak with a thrilling 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest. Lucas Paqueta’s early strike gave West Ham an initial lead, but Forest responded with goals from Taiwo Awoniyi and Anthony Elanga.

However, James Ward-Prowse’s well-delivered corners were headed in by Jarrod Bowen and Tomas Soucek, securing a comeback victory for the Hammers and relieving pressure on manager David Moyes.

Brighton, despite recent success in the Europa League against Ajax, faced domestic struggles as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Sheffield United. Simon Adingra opened the scoring for Roberto De Zerbi’s side, but Brighton had to defend with 10 men for the last 20 minutes after Mahmoud Dahoud’s red card.

Sheffield United capitalised, levelling the score through Adam Webster’s own goal. The point lifted Sheffield United off the bottom of the table, bringing them within four points of safety.
