Saudi Arabia issues warning letter to PIA

National carrier faces slot reduction threat

Further deepening the woes of Pakistan International Airlines, Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation has issued a warning to the national carrier and other airlines over flight delays.

Taking notice of the delay in flights, Saudi Aviation (GACA) issued a warning letter to 26 foreign airlines including PIA

The warning letter stated that if the airlines failed to improve their performance, their slots would be reduced.

The letter stated that PIA should ensure the timely arrival and departure of its flights, a warning has also been issued to penalize the national airline for delay in flights.

Sources said that the flight operation of the national airline (PIA) to Saudi Arabia is being badly affected, the flights are getting delayed for hours due to the damaged aircraft.
