A shooting incident erupted in a restaurant in Nashville, Tennessee Sunday, killing at least one and injuring five others as per the local authorities.
The shooting in Nashville erupted at about 3pm in the Salemtown neighborhood minutes after a woman arrived the restaurant with a male suspect.
In a news talk, Metropolitan Nashville Police Department spokesman Don Aaron said that the suspect and the man who died got into an argument that “significantly escalated within moments.”
Authorities said that the died male was identified as a 33-year-old Allen Beachem while the identities of others have not yet been made public.
According to authorities, a suspect aged 46 years was seen in a security video fleeing the scene. Police have not yet arrested anyone and the search is currently underway.
The security footage provided by the restaurant also shows the suspect pointing a gun.
The official during the conference said: “The gunman was the only one who brandished a pistol. This was not a shootout, if you will, this was one person who decided to pull a gun based on an altercation occurring with another man and then he fired multiple shots.”
After the firing of the shots, people in the restaurant panicked and ran for shelter.
Authorities were in the process of determining the cause of the shooting and questioning the victims in the hospital.
