The Biden administration has unveiled a temporary legal status program for nearly 500,000 Venezuelans who were residing in the United States as of July 31. Simultaneously, the administration has emphasized its commitment to deporting those who enter the country illegally after this date and are unable to secure asylum. In addition, there has been the initiation of deportation flights to Venezuela as part of a diplomatic warming of relations with the government of Nicolás Maduro, a historical adversary.
