Hunter Biden, the 53-year-old son of President Joe Biden, appeared cheerful as he joined First Lady Jill Biden and his dad’s campaign co-chairman Jeffrey Katzenberg for dinner in California.
Hunter, who had been defying the House Republican impeachment inquiry of President Biden for months, showed no concern after agreeing to testify.
Katzenberg, the former chairman of Disney and onetime CEO of Dreamworks Animation, joined the Bidens after returning from sub-zero Iowa, where he touted Biden’s campaign to counter-message focus on the Republican contest, The New York Post reported.
The first lady, Hunter’s stepmother, joined the family dinner after appearing at a fundraiser earlier this week in California’s Santa Monica
Secret Service and police lined the street outside the beach-adjacent Italian eatery while the family, including Hunter’s wife Melissa Cohen and toddler son Beau, dined inside.
Last week, President Biden’s Justice Department confirmed his laptop is real and matches iCloud backups, not a “Russian plant” as claimed during the 2020 election.
Meanwhile, a Delaware court filing revealed that cocaine was found on Hunter’s gun pouch in 2018, proving his guilty plea for felonies for buying and possessing a gun while addicted to drugs.
Hunter is facing federal charges on both coasts and pleaded not guilty to tax charges after failing to pay at least $1.4 million between 2016 and 2019. A trial is scheduled for June 20 amid Joe Biden’s re-election campaign.
